You've read the script, now here's the film.

In what is now a fuzzy blur of a week, we can only remember amazing shows with musical dignitaries, stealing someones bike for a photoshoot, hanging out at Jack White's pop-up record store, joining a search party looking for Barley the dog, finding toilet seats shaped like guitars, crashing Tom Morello's not-so-secret afterparty, drinking 20 tequilas and 20 frozen margaritas in two hours, and the rest you can find out about in our previous blog postings.

It doesn't matter how little sleep you get whilst there, being in any one place at SXSW you are (by default) missing sixty plus other great shows elsewhere. Wayne Kramer said it best: "Take it easy. But take it". We took as much as we could and we left wanting more. Until next time Austin, you're an ace city and special crowd for sure.

1) Listen to Lemmy and Motorhead soundcheck (we had no choice, it was right outside our apartment)
1) Register at the Convention Centre for our wristbands/passes
2) Eat some over-sized portions of local produce
3) Try on some funny hats
4) Fill the apartment fridge with Shiner beer

Queuing up for wristband registration is never fun. As with all things in America you need photo ID, even to take a piss, so when Johan realised he had forgot his we had convince the attendant to check TGTB's myspace to match his name to his face. Moving on from there, we went for a slap up feed at a Tex Mex restaurant Casa Chapala where our attentive waiter Marquez regaled us with tales of his proud achievements including making the world's largest ever burrito in the Guinness Book of Records, which he also seemed to have eaten.

After stuffing our faces we waddled down back to Chez TGTB for a further bout of R+R, which would be aided accordingly by a crate of Shiner's from the local store. Not much else to report except we got a great review of our gig the previous night sent to us by Lorne from themusicfix.co.uk. Our performance was so well received by Strummerville and Jail Guitar Doors that they've asked if we're free to play a special impromptu gig the next night.

The Good The Bad are proud to announce their impending debut into American territory with a much anticipated, action-packed trip to Austin, Texas next week. The band have been selected from over 10,000 applicants to play the much-lauded SXSW festival and arrive earlier than most artists on 15 March, after having been invited to support Billy Bragg, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly and Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters) at a special gig supporting Strummerville and Jail Guitar Doors at the British Music Embassy.

Building up to their official showcase on Saturday 20 March, TGTB have several other raucous gigs, all listed below. Watch this space throughout the festival as the band attempt to fight off the temptations of world-beating barbeque munch and gallons of Shiner Bock in order to bring an up-to-speed account of what's going on Stateside. Because everyone knows The Good The Bad like to give rather than take.
